Description
Coffin Lane Stout – 5% ABV – 500ml
Coffin Lane Stout rich, dark and roasted with a dry finish.
Originally named after a road which leads on to a cemetery it is well known as a trail lined by standing stones in the shape of gravestones, it is said to be the route used by mourners and coffin bearers from the nearby village into Ashover where they would bury there dead. The trail is now known as the old packhorse trail but remains as coffin lane or coffin road to the locals of Ashover.
The term “stout” originally derives from being “proud” or “brave”. But later years meant it took to mean that the beer was “strong” but it could also be used to describe a “dark” beer in whole.
Coffin lane stout is an award winning beer as it was the East midlands regional champion beer of Britain 2014.
