About Us
At Ashover Brewery we have been producing some of the finest ales with local Derbyshire produce since 2007.
Unlike most breweries we prefer to source our flavourings from local suppliers, home growers and farms as well as our own foraging efforts.
Ashover brewery was founded in 2007 by Roy Shorrock & Kim Beresford at the Old Poets Corner public house in Ashover Chesterfield Derbyshire. The aim was to bring the local real ale enthusiast something exciting in their local pub. Very quickly after experimenting with flavours and brewing techniques the popularity of the beers grew and so did the range.
Ashover Brewery continued to grow and brew at the Old Poets Corner right up to 2015. Demand got so high that Kim & Roy had no choice than to expand in to an industrial unit in Clay Cross and run efforts at both sites for a short time.
During the years Ashover Brewery have won awards with CAMRA, SIBA and at several beer festivals.
In 2020 Kim & Roy decided it was time to enjoy retirement and handed the reins to local entrepreneur and publican David Neale.
David, a Sheffield based entrepreneur has a real passion for ‘the romance of real ales’ and couldnt wait to get stuck in.
What's next for ashover brewery?
David’s vision is to grow the brand with the help of the team to create new exciting flavours as well as the original beers you love and know so well. David aims to supply pub’s, micro pubs and bottle to shops UK wide. Aswell as opening a brand new bar area and bottle shop ready to open at the brewery itself.
Since taking over David has been hard at work creating new ways for you to buy our award winning real ales, teaming up with Brew2you from CAMRA and our own online bottle shop. As well as teaming up with pubs in the area to spread the range far and wide.
