Nodder – 4.2% ABV – 500ml
Traditionally a dark ruby mild, Nodder is 4.2% ABV and inhabits an incredible balance of fruit and hops leading to a pleasant, lingering malty taste.
Nodder’s taste accounts to accords of chocolate, raisins, wheat and nuts. This tasty mild also has a beige foamy head. Rich and satisfying.
The history of Nodder’s unusual title wasn’t for the namesake of Noddy Holder, but was named after the Nodder family who lived in Ashover with their earliest documentation of 1680. To commemorate WW1, we brewed this special ruby mild and named it after a nurse from Ashover that sadly died in the first great world war.
With a malty palate, mild ale originated in Britain’s 17th century and at the time, meant a “young ale” as opposed to an older or staler aged ale. Up until the 1960s, mild was the most sought after beer style in England.
